DPI for Digital Transformation
DPI4DT is an ‘approach’ in which DPI is used as a foundational building block of a digital ecosystem to deliver new value and experience to the customers.
DPI is necessary, but not sufficient to create Digital Transformation.
We need enablers like Policy, Partnership and Capacity.
DPI4DT ensures that the design and implementation of DPI is fully aligned with the goals of the Digital Transformation Strategy.
Foundational DPI (such as digital ID, payments, or data exchange systems) should focus on general-purpose outcomes: enabling access, inclusion, and interoperability across various sectors.
Sectoral DPI should be designed for targeted outcomes, helping deliver well-defined digital services in areas like health, agriculture, or education.
A clear line of sight between DPI design and its intended outcomes ensures that the infrastructure truly drives impact.
Developing a DPI4DT Strategy can be pioneering and trend-setting across States and countries.
It enables coordinated and unifying efforts by all stakeholders to create a network effect.
